Providing and preserving photographs for children in foster care

Capturing Photos

GOAL: To obtain high quality images in sufficient quantity and variety such that a child’s personal growth, important milestones, and significant relationships are captured during his or her stay in foster care.

Accumulating digital images meaningful to a child in foster care takes planning, coordination and, in some cases, a bit of ingenuity to engineer the “photo ops” necessary for capturing a representative range of people and activities.

Working with foster care agencies, Photo Safe’s professional photographers take pictures at holiday parties, picnics, and other agency events, as well as at activities specifically sponsored by Photo Safe, such as a “Family Photo Day”. Additionally, we seek pictures from family members (biological and foster), teachers, social workers and others to help ensure the child’s album includes a broad spectrum of people and activities important to them.
