Providing and preserving photographs for children in foster care

Providing Photos

GOAL: To provide images to the child, guardian or other people important to the child, for enjoyment today and forever

It is always a joyous occasion for all involved when families see their photographs for the first time. After being cropped, sharpened and framed, the photographs are presented to the families in special “handover” events, and always received with gasps, hugs, and many expressions of thanks.

But in addition to being proudly displayed in frames, Photo Safe recognizes that these photographs can benefit the children in other positive ways, such as …

  • for children waiting to be adopted, in photo books to beautifully capture their personality and make prospective parents fall instantly in love
  • by foster agencies, to display as large, spectacular prints in their lobbies and conference areas, adding warmth and a welcoming sense
  • in therapeutic “Life Books” that the children create to record their personal history, adding a fidelity that their drawings and words cannot match
  • on photo mugs, photo aprons, photo magnets, photo key chains, to make special holiday gifts for children to proudly present to relatives, caretakers and friends

Photo Safe provides the photographs in many formats and surfaces, for a variety of uses and reasons … and always for free.

Capture memories, relationships and changing appearances Provide framed photos and photo gifts for foster youth, parents, and caregivers Preserve children’s albums for a lifetime of enjoyment and sharing with future generations

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
